The Nationals team played its third weekend double round in a row. This time we had matches against two Prague teams waiting for us as we crossed our lacrosse sticks with the Radotin team LCC Wolves on Saturday and the next day there was TJ Malesice.
Our evening duel against the young wolves brought an unexpected tough battle. The Wolves were biting right from the start when they scored in the fifth minute. We turned the score to our advantage with four accurate shots in a row and we expected the rest of the match to go smoothly. But the opponent managed to make up their goal deficit and they kept attacking for the entire match. However, we once again turned the score with three direct shots and we protected our lead until the end. We outmatched the Wolves especially physically and that was decisive in our 9:7 victory.
The Sunday duel against TJ Malesice was even from the start and Malesice only got their 3 goal lead in the of the match. Jeck ordered attack in the third quarter when the score was an unfavorable 3:6 and he scored three goals in the span of 96 seconds. Three second later Seversky won the face-off and he took the ball right up to the goal post and upped the score to 7:6 in our favor. A few goals were scored on both sides and the guest team even managed to tie 10:10 73 seconds before the end of the match thanks to Adamiec. However, 35 seconds before Culman was left alone in the crease after a screen from Radimak and there he received a pass from Patzko. Face to face with the golie he made no mistakes and turned the scales on to the Nationals‘ side. The opponent called in their goalie in the last seconds of the match and they tried their luck in the 6 on 5 game.
Our goalie managed an unbelievable move to the left post after a diagonal pass to the crease and stopped a shot that would have ended in the net!
In the end the Nationals players were celebrating a 11:10 win and took home three precious points, which may be decisive in the battle for playoff.
The whole team delivered a first-rate performance, but we must point out Jeck, who magnificently pulled the Nationals towards victory and scored seven times. Another great effort was from goalie Pisar, who defused 37 shots from the opponents.
